Retired - Tired Again

I built a long track in the nether, about 150-200 tracks long, so I could get to the new content. The different trees designs alone were very nice. And no matter where I dig, in any of my already generated areas I'll never find any blue ore. I'm not saying I want blue ore, just that it's annoying that I'd never find any in my present areas.

So...

I got to the new area and then I died. It was at that point I realized I didn't want to keep traveling to what would become my new base.

I've decided to create a new world. I have backuped my current world and will save it for the memories. Once notch make the new save format I'll convert it and upload it for download just in case anyone wants to check it out.

Cartograph!

Cartograph takes a little longer to run each time. At some point my world will be big enough that it will take longer than it's worth. I'm getting an updated view of my world so I can see the where I haven' yet been. There is some new stuff added in the most recent update that I can't access unless I get some newly generated land.

PL-03A "Adrift" Tour

Here is the path in the nether leading to the portal to Adrift, portal "PL-03A".

This area is open and highly prone to ghast attacks.

I tried to make each portal in my portal trails different. This is the first thing I've built directly above lava.

This is where you appear, in the center of the floating island.

Jump in the pool to return to the portal.

Nature trail through the forest.

My first airship.

I haven't build many houses. I still need to add windows and some decoration inside.

The lookout tower.

The view from above. You can see my small pile of dyed wool. The update was just released and I was trying to find all the colors.

And a nice overall view of Adrift. Once I consider the island finalized I'll get another picture like this. 1280x720, perfect for the desktop.

Small Island Update

Got the grass on the island, the inside is fully sculpted. Planted a forest and built a small tower. Oh, and an attempt at a small airship.

Working on Adrift

Man-made floating island underway. You can also see an extension of dirt from the surface. That is to bring some grass to my isle. Floating blocks are to see the building height limit.

Not sure what I'll put on it yet. At least one tower, and a few trees. I may also ass some smaller floating islands in the area.

HELLo...

There is like 7 Ghasts there, and there were 3 behind me. I'm safe here in my glass cage.

Last Portal Finished

The last (for now) portal is built. At first it threw me into a cave, which is fine, but it didn't link back correctly, so I had to deactivate it and rebuild it on the surface. No idea what I'll use this area for yet.

Experience the Thrill Firsthand

Please download my world, walk around, build, destroy! Tell me what you think.

[Sorry for the Ads]

Welcome to my World

When I first played Minecraft, I think only classic mode existed, the game seemed like something different - I admired that, but not enough to get into it. I thought "What's the point?". Also - with such simple graphics, why was it not running smoother?

But later on, I read in a magazine about crafting tools, mining, monsters... I didn't remember any of that from before! And I LOVE mining, not sure why. When I played WoW I always took up mining.

So here we are, all addicted to Minecraft... At least I am, and you must be at least a little if your willing to read a complete strangers blog about it. (A small exception for my few RL friends - but you are probably hooked too)

Welcome to my world. Still unnamed, and slowly growing. I have a main base that was built into a natural structure, slowly expanded, fortified, and then connected to a network of portals. I have one more portal I want to build, and at each new location I will build something different.

I have:
my Main Base, a Quarry, a Natural Cave Base, an area of Flatlands for my son to build something in my world on, and two large bodies of water. I will build a floating island above one, perhaps to house my gold or other treasures, and an underwater base (especially now that we will have underwater mobs link). And who knows what awaits us on the next portal.

Portals are Opening
